After Dark is a terrifying creep through the deep fears of my reptile brain. Despite a love for zoos and big cats, the book reminds me that lions are worthy of fear and reverence. A zombie virus involving people seems tame by comparison: Leah’s fanged and clawed undead are frighteningly awesome.
